Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth seems to tell a number of different stories when asked about here skincare routine. In March she told Hello Magazine, Exercise. “If you have a good sweat every day it’s so detoxifying and good for your skin tone.”

In May Gwyneth divulged her secrets to radiant skin on Twitter, saying “Hot water and a washcloth.” She added, “Put your face in a bowl of ice water and repeat to reduce swelling and bring fresh blood flow to your face.”

In Harpers Bazaar last August Gwyneth says she uses Restorsea restoring night cream. Restorsea, a beauty line that uses an enzyme from the waters of just-hatched salmon that the company claims has an anti-aging property that keeps skin soft and dewy.

But there is more to her beautiful skin than exercise, cold water and Restorsea.

January, Gwyneth had a cosmetic procedure called Thermage from Dr Rakus. Dubbed ‘the ironing treatment’, Thermage smooths out wrinkles, tightens saggy jowls and reduces hooding around the eyes.   The treatment actually uses radio frequency (RF) energy. When the RF pulse from the hand-held Thermage tip hits the skin, the energy travels into its deepest layers where the plumping collagen is found. The energy actually damages the collagen making it recoil, tighten and then repair. The effect at the surface of the skin is both a tightening and a plumping one. Other celebrities that have had this procedure from Dr Rakus include Amanda Holden and Linda Evangelista.

But I think the true secret to Gwyneth Paltrow’s beautiful skin is her visit to Harley Street to see celebrity Cosmetic surgeon  Dr Nirdosh in 2012 when she said “I’m Ready For Cosmetic Surgery!”
